Château Le Raz - Côtes de Montravel Moelleux blanc 2024
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"An irresistible vintage, for a moment of pure bliss!"
"This Favorite, which showcases the Barde family’s expertise, also highlights a little-known appellation—one that is rarely claimed—confined to the finest hillsides of a dozen communes, whose boundaries, dating back to the Middle Ages (a possession of the Bishop of Bordeaux), were fiercely defended in court a century ago. The wine? A sweet wine (50 g/l) made from Sémillon (70%), Muscadelle, and Sauvignon, aged for 16 months in oak. The color is light and youthful; the intense nose blends acacia, pear, fresh apricot, citrus, and spices. Peach joins this fruit basket in a rich, harmonious, and long finish.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026).

About the estate:
Regularly in the spotlight for its Montravel wines, the estate came into the Barde family in 1958; the family has been rooted in the Bergerac region since the 15th century. Today, it features a restored 17th-century manor house and 220 hectares of grain, rapeseed, sunflowers, woodland, and vineyards, managed by two cousins. Joined by the new generation and supported in the cellar by Francesca Contessi, Patrick Barde oversees the vineyard. Through years of acquisitions and leasehold arrangements, the vineyard now covers nearly 70 hectares on the plateaus. A wine trading operation complements the estate.
