Aveyron

The Aveyron features a landscape of plateaus and hills where ancient soils of schist and granite lie alongside red sandstone. The vineyards cling to the slopes of the hillsides and to dry-stone walls. The climate lies at the crossroads of three climatic influences. To the west, there is an oceanic influence, while the southeast is more under Mediterranean influence, and the north and east under a more continental influence. Grape varieties: Reds: Cabernet Sauvignon, Duras, Fer Servadou, Merlot, and Syrah. Whites: Chardonnay and Chenin
