Domaine du Mage
Domaine du Mage, located in the South-West of France, was acquired in 1990 by the Grassa family, who also own Château Tariquet. The Domaine du Mage includes a 100% Syrah cru produced only when vintage conditions are favorable. All crus are produced under the Vin de Pays des Côtes de Gascogne appellation. Fruity and elegant, Domaine du Mage wines are aged in barrels for 14 months, during which time they acquire structure and typicity.
The Grassa family has managed to preserve what makes good farming sense. Honesty (not charging more for a product than it's worth), constancy (planting vines commits the winemaker for at least 30 years), order and respect (the plant gives its best when it's balanced, and we must also give back to nature what it so generously gives us). Vineyard fertilizers are of organic origin. To limit the impact of treatments on grape juice, the water used to dilute the active ingredients is partially demineralized and its pH is lowered. The results are edifying, and the use of phytosanitary products throughout Domaine du Mage has been reduced by almost 40%.
