iron servadou
thirst-quenching wine
ready to drink

"A fresh, easy-drinking cuvée that brings out the best in the Mansois grape variety".

"The label says it all, and we're not disappointed. This Fer Servadou has all the hallmarks of a buddy wine that's easy to like, but not lacking in character. Adorned in an attractive garnet-red color, the nose is superb and complex, testifying to the great maturity of the harvest, with sustained and delicious aromas of candied black fruits and spices against a background of minerality. Round, silky, fleshy and intensely perfumed on the palate. An eloquent and devilishly charming wine". (Guide Hachette 2025).

Wine rated (2026 guide) 89/100

Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

In a committed, ethical and responsible approach, Lionel Osmin created this eponymous haute couture wine merchant with the idea of freeing himself from appellations to better highlight the grape variety and give a simple, gourmet reading of the wines. Since Pau, the company has vinified a varied range of some thirty cuvées, as well as a number of armagnacs. It also markets Clos Joliette, a Jurançon gem, and Domaine Berthoumieu wines. The range, chiselled by Damiens Sartori, the key man in charge of vinification, offers great successes at all price levels.

About the domain :

Son of a jeweler from Béarn, Lionel Osmin became an agricultural engineer and in 2010 founded a successful trading house specializing in wines from the greater South-West, from Irouléguy to Bergerac, from Madiran to Marcillac. Oenologist Damiens Sartori is in charge of vinification for this vast range of wines.

Wine rated ( 2024 guide) 90/100 (Great wine)

About the wine:

Fer de Soif 2023 reveals a slightly leafy, fragrant bouquet of blackcurrant, violet, licorice, spice and blackberry. Moderately heavy and dense, it's round and rich, complemented by structured tannins and finishing with a long, slightly rustic but elegantly leafy finish. Perfect with prime rib or T-bone steak.

Domaine noté Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list, and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :

Although he knows how to make wines with grapes from elsewhere, it's in the local area that Lionel Osmin is at his best, with precise, honed terroir cuvées. The wine merchant from Pau also offers a range of single-varietal cuvées: autochthonous varieties, freed from the appellation, such as prunelard, abouriou, mauzac... Finally, Lionel Osmin makes a few curiosities, starting with a vin doux naturel made from tannat and malbec.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 13/07/2025

Discover this pure, light and fluid Marcillac, with its fresh, bloody juice framed by straightforward tannins releasing a coulis of bright red and black fruits, enhanced by a few floral notes and zan. Sustained peppery finish... A relatively easy-to-digest buddy wine whose liveliness can be appreciated with basquaise chicken or bbq-grilled marinated ribs. Score = 3.8
