Cederberg
Cederberg is a renowned wine region in South Africa’s Western Cape province, located near the Citrusdal Mountain and Citrusdal Valley wine regions. Famous for its spectacular landscapes—including rock arches, towers, ravines, and other geological formations—the Cederberg region offers a unique setting for viticulture. With an altitude of around 1,000 meters, the Cederberg enjoys an exceptionally cool climate, allowing Syrah to ripen in a unique way. This vineyard is undoubtedly one of the most extreme in South Africa.
Traditional grape varieties grown in the region include Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, and Pinotage.
The Cederberg is a niche appellation, with only about 100 hectares of vineyards cultivated in the region.
