Riesling

“Both bold and fresh, this wine exhibits exceptional power and tension. (James Suckling)”

“The 2023 Riesling Schoenenbourg Grand Cru Révélation, made from grapes harvested from eight plots within this vineyard, has a golden color. It was aged half in large oak casks and half in stainless steel tanks, then blended before bottling. Delicate, fragrant notes of dried lemon balm and lemongrass intertwine with a hint of flint, offering a beautifully lively, fresh, and appetizing nose. The palate also reflects this aromatic liveliness, exuding a fresh and delicate smoothness. It displays a certain lightness and ease, but also a lovely depth.” (Vinous 2025)

Rated estate (2025 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

This estate, founded in 2017, consists of the legacy of vineyards brought together by the couple Amélie Buecher—who comes from a long line of winemakers—and Charles Sparr, the son of a family of wine merchants. Certified organic in 2017 and biodynamic in 2019, their vineyard includes four grands crus and offers a consistent range of authentic, unpretentious wines. The quality is improving rapidly, the Pinot Noirs shine, and the estate earned its first star this year.

Both bold and fresh, this wine exudes exceptional power and tension. Aromas of mint and candied lemon peel. Very compact and structured, with an intense salty note in a very long, clean finish.
