François Braun et Fils - Alsace Gewurztraminer Sainte Cécile blanc 2019
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
“2019 is shaping up to be a remarkable year (Hachette)”
"Dedicated to the patron saint of musicians, this 2019 vintage performs a remarkable melody. Harvested about a month after the start of the harvest, the Gewürztraminer has produced a superb sweet wine that reflects both the grape variety and a fine vintage. This wine immediately reveals its richness with an intense golden-yellow color and a generous, complex nose, unfolding varietal notes (lychee, mango, spices) and more distinctive nuances of violet and toasted aromas. Equally aromatic, the palate is full-bodied, smooth, and long-lasting. Fresh, spicy (clove), and tinged with a slight bitterness, the finish leaves a memory of rare harmony.” (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

About the wine:
Dedicated to the patron saint of musicians, this 2019 vintage performs a remarkable melody. Equally aromatic, the palate is full-bodied, creamy, and long-lasting. Fresh, spicy (clove), and tinged with a slight bitterness, the finish leaves a memory of rare harmony. (Residual sugar: 17 g/l.)
About the estate:
A family with roots in Orschwihr dating back to the 16th century, located about 25 km south of Colmar. Long engaged in mixed farming, the estate began bottling its own wines after World War II under François Braun, with the next generation completing the transition to specialization. Having taken over in 1980 and 1991, respectively, Philippe and Pascal cultivate orchards for distillation and 21 hectares of vineyards, including 10 hectares on the Bollenberg and plots in two Grand Cru vineyards.
