François Braun et Fils - Alsace Gewurztraminer Sainte Cécile blanc 2019
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"This 2019 is a remarkable piece of work (Hachette)"
"Dedicated to the patron saint of musicians, this 2019 vintage performs a remarkable piece. Harvested about a month after the start of the harvest, the Gewürztraminer produced a superb sweet wine that reflects both the grape variety and a fine vintage. This wine immediately reveals its richness with an intense golden-yellow color and a generous, complex nose that unfolds with varietal notes (lychee, mango, spices) and more distinctive hints of violet and toasted aromas. Equally aromatic, the palate is full-bodied, velvety, and exceptionally long-lasting. Fresh, spicy (clove), and tinged with a slight bitterness, the finish leaves a lasting impression of rare harmony.” (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

About the estate:
A family with roots in Orschwihr dating back to the 16th century, some 25 km south of Colmar. Long engaged in mixed farming, the estate began bottling its own wines after World War II under François Braun, with the next generation completing its specialization. Having taken over the estate in 1980 and 1991, respectively, Philippe and Pascal manage orchards for distillation and 21 hectares of vineyards, including 10 hectares on the Bollenberg and plots in two Grand Cru vineyards.
