Susana Balbo
As the first woman to earn the title of enologist in Argentina, Susana Balbo worked for some of the country’s leading wine producers before fulfilling her dream of owning her own vineyard. In 1999, Susana Balbo Wines was founded, an estate in the heart of Luján de Cuyo in the province of Mendoza. Named “Woman of the Year 2015” by The Drink Business magazine, Susana Balbo has nothing left to prove. Today, her children, José and Ana, carry on her legacy.
Susana Balbo Wines produces wines from the major international grape varieties (Malbec, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, etc.) as well as indigenous varieties (Torrontés).
For Susana Balbo, a good winemaker is one who masters the art of blending not only grape varieties but also terroirs.
