Beaujolais-Leynes
The Beaujolais-Leynes appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) is an appellation derived from the Beaujolais-Villages AOC and has been a recognized regional appellation since 1950. It was also the first appellation in France to use the term "villages." Its vineyards cover approximately 6,200 hectares and include the 38 communes that are entitled to use the Beaujolais-Villages appellation due to the specific characteristics of their terroir.

In the southern part of the Beaujolais vineyards, the soils are clay-limestone, dating from the Mesozoic era. Further north, the soils consist of alluvial deposits from the Tertiary and Quaternary periods. The only grape variety used is, of course, Gamay noir à jus blanc. The Beaujolais-Leynes appellation is located in the far north of the Beaujolais region.

Located in the immediate vicinity of La Roche de Solutré and the village of Fuissé, the commune of Leynes obviously benefits from characteristics that allow the red wines produced there to claim the Beaujolais-Leynes appellation. The Domaine de la Soufrandière offers a fine example of this appellation and allows you to discover all its qualities.
