The K Family is the story of a family—Marianne, Benoît, and, of course, the irreplaceable Jeanne—former Parisians who used to live life at a breakneck pace but decided to leave that hectic city life behind to cultivate the Beaujolais region with passion and dedication. In 2016–2017, they took the time to prepare their project. A quest for meaning and a return to their roots that began with their wedding in Saint-Amour, continued in Argentina and New Zealand during a long trip around the world, and ended in Morancé, in the heart of the Pierres Dorées region, with which they fell in love. It was therefore with great enthusiasm and purpose that the K Family took over a 12-hectare estate in 2018, applying their vision: to help restore the image of Beaujolais wines without pretension, and to prove that good, well-made wine can be accessible to everyone. The K Family practices pesticide-free viticulture without dogmatism, meaning no synthetic products but rather high-performance technical methods (pneumatic press) and a small amount of sulfites—just enough to preserve the full flavor of the wines.

This family-owned vineyard is located in Morancé in the Beaujolais region, in the "Pays des Pierres Dorées." It comprises 12 hectares of land in the process of converting to organic farming, with clay-limestone or silty-clay soils, planted with Gamay and Chardonnay—the flagship grape varieties of the Beaujolais appellation—as well as Pinot Gris and Gamaret.

The personalities of the K Family are reflected in the names of their vintages:

• L’Héritière, played by Jeanne, age 2½: a lovely fresh and tangy juice

• La Mère, Marianne: rich and fruity, yet with a solid structure. It is the soul and heart of the estate

• Benoit, the estate’s workhorse, though not overly muscular—just enough to let the wine express itself

The K family’s friends also include: Christian, the master tailor; Georges, the former vinicultor who guides us without seeming to; and Jean-François, the Beaujolais connoisseur.
