Domaine Dupré-Goujon - Côte de Brouilly L'Héronde 2021
96/100
James Suckling
"A complex aromatic palette, awarded 96 points by James Suckling!"
"A truly astonishing wine for this difficult vintage, with a deep nose of violet, mandarin, and spice. The medium-bodied, highly concentrated palate is astonishingly focused. An explosive stony minerality animates the extremely long finish, which is skillfully supported by very fine tannins. This wine is just beginning to reach the peak of its youth, but it has great aging potential. (James Suckling 2024) A word of advice: wait before opening it!

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
The duo of Sébastien Dupré and Guillaume Goujon have established a confident and ambitious style over the course of several vintages. Longtime friends, they honed their skills with Frédéric Pourtalié at the Montcalmès estate for eight years, replacing cousin Vincent Guizard. After gaining some experience, they released their first vintage in 2015, with the iconic 6.3.1 cuvée, a blend from their plots (60% L'Héronde, 30% Le Pavé, 10% Brûlhier).

Beautiful deep ruby color. On the nose, red berries, crushed raspberries, earthiness, geranium, a hint of barn and linen. Complex and layered. On the palate, crisp red berries, those raspberries again, lovely acidity and soft, fine-grained tannins that provide grip and tension. Juicy, crisp, fruity, earthy, spicy, full-bodied, characterful and very convincing. So pure Gamay. Absolutely beautiful. Wine with aging potential until 2031/32. Score: 17+/20
