Château de Monbadon
Château de Monbadon was built in the 14th century and is located in the commune of Monbadon-Puisseguin, around 40 kilometers from Bordeaux. The Château de Monbadon 's 25-hectare vineyard (20 of which are currently in production) is located mainly on a clay-limestone plateau with rocky subsoil at an altitude of 109 meters above sea level, very close to one of the two highest points in the Gironde region: 114 meters.
The rest of the vineyard stretches out on a steep slope at the foot of the château. Double Guyot pruning, debudding, and leaf removal are practiced in order to obtain controlled yields. Treatments and amendments are carried out using natural products. The estate is also in the process of converting to organic farming.
Château de Monbadon produces a Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux that can be enjoyed now or kept in the cellar for a few years.
