La Prade Castle
Château La Prade, located in the Bordeaux region and owned by Patrick Valette, was purchased in 2000 by Nicolas Thienpont. The vineyards of Château La Prade cover 4.5 hectares of beautifully situated land in the commune of Saint-Cibard, partly on limestone plateau and partly on silty-clay-limestone hillsides. The complexity of the terroirs gives the AOC Côtes de Francs wine from Château La Prade its subtlety and elegance.

The rules governing viticulture and winemaking at Château La Prade are the same as those at Château Puygueraud, and are inspired by those practiced by Nicolas Thienpont on the estates they operate in Saint-Emilion, thus ensuring a high level of quality for all their wines. The old vines at Château La Prade receive more intensive care, with low yields and greater precision in the selection of plots. The wines are aged on fine lees in 50% new barrels and undergo malolactic fermentation in barrels. The preservation of the fruit, the search for richness, and the beautiful tannic structure of this predominantly Merlot wine with its characteristic roundness make it one of the finest expressions of Côtes de Francs.
