Château La Vieille Cure
Jérôme Pignard, owner of the La Vieille Cure estate since 2018, and Frédéric Labatut, who has been tending the estate’s vineyards for 32 years and is now its cellar master, have assembled a team of wine enthusiasts to create two magnificent wines from the Fronsac region: Château La Vieille Cure and its second wine, La Sacristie, in keeping with Bordeaux tradition. All of this under the modern guidance of two wine industry professionals: Jean-Luc Thunevin, an iconic winemaker from Saint-Émilion, and Jean-Philippe Fort, an oenologist from the renowned Rolland firm.
The La Vieille Cure estate is located north of Bordeaux, 15 minutes from Fronsac, at the confluence of two rivers: the Isle and the Dordogne, which provide natural irrigation to the vineyard.
Its clay-limestone soil and southeast exposure make it an exceptional terroir within the Fronsac appellation. Here you will find 35 hectares planted with approximately 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, growing not far from the iconic vineyards of Pomerol and Saint-Émilion, in a setting of natural beauty and lush greenery.
