About the estate:
Long considered one of the appellation’s flagship estates, this very large estate in the southern Graves region belongs to the Levêque family, who are also renowned wine brokers in the Bordeaux region. It is now managed by Hubert de Boüard (Château Angélus), who produces wines here—both red and white—that are highly representative of the region and destined for great success. Both the red and white wines are very expressive, subtly aromatic, quite refined, and well-balanced. The Caroline, the estate’s flagship wine with a well-established reputation, is rich yet never lacking in elegance.

About the estate:
An iconic estate in Podensac, in the heart of the Graves appellation, Chantegrive was founded by Henri Lévêque. This long-standing Bordeaux wine broker began the venture in 1966 with just two hectares of vineyards. Long a pioneer in the production of ambitious wines, Chantegrive experienced a slump in the early 2000s. The château, taken over by Marie-Hélène Lévêque with the guidance of Hubert de Boüard since 2006, now produces wines that have regained their place among the appellation’s finest. Launched in 2020, the Les Oiseaux range offers a cleverly modern and spontaneous take on Graves wines.

On the palate, the sweet, woody character is noticeable on the attack. It lends a delectable touch to the overall palate, while the structure and subtle bitter notes support the intensity and aromatic persistence.
