Château Doyac
Château Doyac is an old estate in the Haut-Médoc acquired in 1998 by Max de Pourtalès, a former banker.
Château Doyac is situated on the limestone bedrock of Saint-Seurin de Cadourne. On these beautiful, gently sloping south-facing hillsides, with drainage systems completely renovated in 1998, Max de Pourtalès produces a Grand Vin of character (comparable to the best St. Estèphe wines), combining structure and finesse.
The terroir of Château Doyac is 80% planted with Merlot, which also lends it a remarkable roundness, making it a worthy representative of the great wines of the Médoc (comparable to the best St. Estèphe wines and neighboring the Châteaux Sociando-Mallet and Charmail).
