Robert Parker
From the visionary Bordeaux winemaker Bernard Margrez, this blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot comes from one of the oldest fortified châteaux in the Médoc (built in 1120). Its ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of graphite, blackcurrant, spice box, and charcoal. This 2011 reveals excellent, even exceptional concentration, silky tannins, and a long finish. An unexpected success for this vintage, this wine is very well made in a rather difficult year." (Wine Advocate 2014 - Robert Parker) Orders of 6 bottles of this wine delivered in France will be shipped in a wooden case.

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2016 guide) 16,5/20 (Reference wine)
About wine:
The estate is very well maintained and the wines from rather difficult vintages such as 2011 are successful, each with its own character and a most appreciable body. A sure bet.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2015) 2* Favorite (Remarkable wine)
About wine:
Once again, Bernard Magrez's team has successfully harnessed the full potential of the terroir with this promising wine, in which the dominant Merlot (57%) is complemented by the two Cabernets and a hint of Petit Verdot. The fine, subtle and modern bouquet combines cocoa, vanilla and small black fruits. Full-bodied and silky, the palate confirms the impression made by the presentation. A wide aromatic palette, a powerful body, well-extracted tannins and a perfectly constructed finish guarantee a long and happy cellaring life.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rating (2015 guide) 17/20 (Remarkable)
About wine:
Already noted during the primeurs for its concentration, it remains, today (January 2014), in this impressive register. One of the most impressive in the region. But there is no heaviness and, above all, the oak is very well controlled, without any masking. Bravo!

Wine rated (2016 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2014 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About wine:
A 2011 vintage that is also built on real finesse, without lacking substance.
About the estate:
Today, the château can boast the title of largest classified growth in the Médoc. Over the years, owner Bernard Magrez has expanded it considerably through the acquisition of attractive parcels of land. At the same time, the facilities have been modernized and the style of the wines has been beautifully refined over the last few vintages. The dense, extracted wines that have long characterized the cru have become much more refined and elegant. We welcome this development, as well as the very reasonable pricing policy, which continues to make La Tour Carnet an excellent value."
