About the estate:
Located on the Grand Poujeaux hill, a superb terroir of Günz gravel, this five-hectare estate was purchased about ten years ago by Stéphane Dupuch, who also owns Château Sainte-Marie, the flagship estate of the Entre-Deux-Mers region. The vineyard is planted with a classic blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines produced are full-bodied, generous, and well-balanced, and undoubtedly possess real aging potential.

By purchasing this small Haut-Médoc vineyard (just over 4 hectares) located in Listrac and near the renowned vineyards of Moulis (Grand Poujeaux, Chasse-Spleen, Maucaillou), the Dupuch family, whose estate is located in Entre-deux-Mers (Château Sainte-Marie), has realized its dream: to cross the Garonne River and establish itself on a beautiful gravel terroir.

The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, once again in a very classic and conservative style, perhaps bordering on austerity on the finish. I think this will be avoided by the time of bottling.

This 4-hectare estate is planted with old vines, some of which date back to the replanting following the great frost of 1956. The wine develops concentration due to low yields, as well as fresh blackcurrant aromas typical of this vintage. Best enjoyed starting in 2022.

On the nose, there are strong coffee notes that seem to come from the oak, but ripe cherries are also present in the background. The tannins are chewy, still firm, and need time to develop, but the fruit is present in the mid-palate and the finish is juicy. Wait. (JH)

Garnet red with light purple highlights. A bouquet of medium intensity revealing black berries and candied fruit. The attack is rich and creamy. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, has a certain depth, and is well-balanced. Its tannins are well-integrated, and the acidity remains in the background. I am a bit surprised by the wine’s palate, as the nose struggles to open up, but we must not lose sight of the fact that this wine is young and deserves some aging. A wine that will certainly be able to achieve a higher score. To be monitored over time. 2022–2036
