Domaine du Grand Ormeau

The history of Domaine du Grand Ormeau is that of a precious family legacy, patiently cultivated since the mid-19th century. Rooted in respect for the land, this legacy has been passed down from generation to generation within the Garde family. Founded in 1866, this winery cultivates a 15-hectare vineyard using sustainable agricultural practices certified under the HVE 3 standard. Domaine du Grand Ormeau is situated on a plateau of clay-gravel soil with deep gravel layers, in the heart of the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, in the town of Néac. The vineyard is planted with 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. The wines regularly receive accolades from critics, as evidenced by the 2019 vintage, which was awarded 2 stars by the Guide Hachette and “ Favorite ” by the Revue du Vin de France.
