Domaine du Grand Ormeau

The history of Domaine du Grand Ormeau is that of a precious family legacy, patiently cultivated since the mid-19th century. Rooted in respect for the land, this legacy has been passed down from generation to generation within the Garde family. Founded in 1866, this winery cultivates a 15-hectare vineyard using sustainable agricultural practices certified under the HVE 3 standard. Domaine du Grand Ormeau is situated on a plateau of clay-gravel and deep gravel soils, in the heart of the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, in the commune of Néac. The vineyard is planted with 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. The wines are regularly recognized by critics, as evidenced by the 2019 vintage, which received two stars from the Guide Hachette and was named Favorite the Revue du Vin de France.
