Château La Tour de Mons

With a history spanning several centuries, Château La Tour de Mons is a single-owner estate, a true “clos,” located in the northern part of the Margaux appellation, on the banks of the Garonne, like the greatest Médoc wines. Several generations have succeeded one another on these lands since the château’s founding in the 13th century. Among its many owners, Pierre de Mons stands out; he took possession of the estate in 1623 and gave it his name. The estate remained in the hands of his descendants until the end of the 20th century.

Château La Tour de Mons was classified as a Cru Bourgeois in the famous 1936 classification.

Since the 1990s, a major renovation program has been implemented by the new owners: construction of a new winemaking facility and a climate-controlled storage cellar, a major drainage project, and sustainable vineyard management aimed at achieving a lasting ecological balance. Château La Tour de Mons has been managed by CA Grands Crus since 2012. Anne Le Naour, Technical Director of the CA Grands Crus estates, oversees the optimization plan for the entire vineyard, with guidance from oenologist Eric Boissenot. Every effort is made to produce a classic, pure, and elegant wine, with the deepest respect for this great Margaux terroir.
