“A little gem that blends vitality and sensuality, with real aging potential. It’s amazing!”

“Maturity and freshness are the best of friends, especially when they come together in harmony! Here, notes of red berries and mint blend with hints of blackcurrant. On the palate, the wine captivates with its vibrancy, subtlety, power, and quiet strength! It possesses energy, velvety smoothness, a fine texture, finesse, and a lingering finish. A delicate, exciting, subtle, and even refreshing (yes, really) Gazin, while possessing the substance needed to age in the cellar… you’ll just have to know how to wait for it, and that might be difficult, given how good it is!” (Yves Beck 2025) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Rated estate (2017 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the estate:

Spanning 24 hectares, Gazin is one of the great estates on the legendary Pomerol plateau; moreover, its single contiguous plot lies directly across from Petrus. The de Bailliencourt family is fully committed to elevating this family-owned estate to the top of the Pomerol hierarchy.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 95/100

About the wine:

Juicy and expressive, this wine reveals a lovely, subtle fruity freshness that allows the fruit to fully express itself. The tannins are certainly present, but they support the wine without overpowering it, lending it a refined elegance. It needs time to develop, but it exudes such ease. I appreciate its mineral notes and fresh nuances. No dryness, just great power. A wine to let age. 2027–2050

Wine rated (2025 guide) 95-97/100

Rated estate (2017 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Following the expert advice of oenologist Thomas Duclos, the estate has undergone a stylistic shift and may be on the verge of a new chapter. Thanks to a more delicate winemaking process, we continue to enjoy the quality of the Gazin vineyard while gaining in charm and body. Its diffuse power is infused with a great intensity of briny and citrus notes, all framed by polished, voluptuous tannins. The wine strikes the perfect balance between a slender, elegant structure and a rich, indulgent body, while retaining an earthy character. This subtle shift in style yields a stunning result. Bravo!

About the estate:

Gazin is the largest of Pomerol’s top estates, with 24 hectares situated on the plateau’s clay-gravel soils. Nicolas de Bailliencourt consistently produces an excellent wine with a classic structure, free of any stylistic affectations, that ages beautifully. We find the most recent vintages particularly compelling, and Gazin stands out as a safe bet, with prices that have remained reasonable.

The subtle tension in this classic wine is impressive. Aromas of blueberries, minerals, and subtle notes of hazelnut and bark. Full-bodied and well-structured on the palate, with fine tannins and a silky, elegant texture. Blend: 88% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

You’ll immediately appreciate its aromatic purity, with fruity notes accented by hints of incense, bay leaf, and floral tones. It’s vibrant and sensual on the palate, with a finely textured tannic structure that adds a touch of grip and chewiness to the silky texture. With a lively, mouth-watering finish featuring notes of licorice, this is a truly lovely Gazin.
