Château Le Gay
Château le Gay, owned by the Robin sisters for sixty years— —produced a wine on eight hectares that was renowned among the most discerning connoisseurs. Thérèse and Marie Robin were held in high esteem by all the residents of Pomerol, in the Bordeaux region, and proudly upheld their father’s motto: “Quality over quantity.” From the moment she established herself in the Pomerol appellation through the acquisition of Château Montviel, Catherine Péré-Vergé quickly demonstrated first-rate ambition, deciding to take over one of Pomerol’s premier vineyards, and ultimately choosing the prestigious Château le Gay, a neighbor of Petrus...

Located on the Pomerol plateau, the Château le Gay estate extends in a single block over a cultivated area of 10.5 hectares. The vineyard consists of vines over 50 years old. They grow on a terroir of clay-limestone gravel. The grape varieties used in the blend for Château le Gay wines are 35% Cabernet, combining power and suppleness, and 65% Merlot. Catherine Péré-Vergé has always called upon her friend Michel Rolland to oversee the winemaking process for her wines. For this oenologist, crafting a great wine means treating it with the utmost care and highlighting the qualities of the grape, thereby expressing the terroir.
