Located on the Pomerol plateau, the Château le Gay estate covers a single block of 10.5 hectares of cultivated land. The vineyard consists of vines that are over 50 years old. They grow on clay-limestone gravel soil. The grape varieties used in the blend of Château le Gay wines are 35% Cabernet, combining power and suppleness, and 65% Merlot. Catherine Péré-Vergé has always called on her friend Michel Rolland to vinify her wines. For this oenologist, vinifying a great wine means treating it with the utmost care and bringing out the qualities of the grapes, and thus the expression of the terroir.
