Château Pontet-Fumet
The origins of Château Pontet-Fumet, located in Saint-Émilion, date back to the early 20th century. Mr. Seigneriau, a wine and grain merchant, subsequently invested in vineyards—a move aided by the construction of a nearby railway line that facilitated wine transport—and decided to produce his own wines. In 1920, one of their daughters married Henri-Gabriel Bardet, founder of Château du Val d’Or, who, along with their son Roger, acquired additional vineyards in the 1960s, thus giving rise to Château Pontet-Fumet in 1962. Now under the stewardship of Philippe Bardet, the Château is committed to innovation and respect for nature, having developed a machine—unique in the world—for sorting grapes and obtaining HVE 3 certification for its 17-hectare estate.

Château Pontet-Fumet is among the last to be harvested in order to achieve perfect ripeness of the grapes, which are sorted to select the finest fruit. The Château’s wines are aged in oak, equally divided between new barrels and one-year-old barrels. The duration of aging is determined through frequent tastings.

Château Pontet-Fumet Saint-Emilion Grand Cru is a powerful and complex wine, combining strength and elegance, with good aging potential.
