"Here, we don't sacrifice quality for fashion. This wine has retained the classic characteristics of Bordeaux, which it expresses through its beautiful balance. First in the bouquet, with a successful combination of red fruits and toasted notes; then on the palate, which shows good body and is supported by silky tannins. Don't hesitate to wait a few years before drinking it. " (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2010). A very fine Saint-Estèphe that is now ready to drink!

About wine:
Second wines from Calon Segur are rare, but the inimitable Mme Gasqueton offered me a tasting of Le Capbern Gasqueton 2006 during my visit to this magnificent château. A bistro-style red, pleasant and smooth, which can be enjoyed over the next 4 to 5 years. It is a good choice for restaurants looking for a Saint-Estèphe with redcurrant and earthy nuances, but without the tannins that often characterize this appellation.
