“Here, we don’t pander to trends. This wine has managed to preserve the classic character of Bordeaux, which it expresses through a beautiful balance. First in the bouquet, a successful blend of red fruit and toasty notes; then on the palate, which displays good body and is supported by silky tannins. Don’t hesitate to let it age for a few years. " (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2010). A truly beautiful Saint-Estèphe now ready to drink!

About the wine:
Second wines from Calon Ségur are rare, but the inimitable Mme Gasqueton offered me a tasting of the 2006 Capbern Gasqueton during my visit to this magnificent château. A bistro-style red, pleasant and smooth, that can be enjoyed over the next 4 to 5 years. It’s a good choice for restaurants looking for a Saint-Estèphe with redcurrant notes and earthy nuances, but without the tannins that often characterize this appellation.
