Château Haut-Beychevelle Gloria
The Martin family, long-time landowners in Saint-Julien, has been managing Château Haut-Beychevelle Gloria for over three centuries. It was on this small 5-hectare estate that Henri Martin developed his passion for wine; like his father, he was a cooper by trade.
In 1942, he began building Château Gloria by purchasing a 6-hectare plot belonging to Château Beychevelle. Today, the estate covers 50 hectares. In the 1980s, he also acquired Château Saint-Pierre (a Fourth Growth) and Château Bel-Air, a Cru Bourgeois in the Haut-Médoc.
When he passed away in 1991, his daughter Françoise and his son-in-law Jean-Louis Triaud took over the management of the estates, with the help of their children, Vanessa and Jean.
