Lalande-Borie Castle
Château Lalande-Borie was created in 1970 by Jean-Eugène Borie on the Lalande terroir, which he acquired that year from a Saint-Julien grand cru classé and to which he added his surname. Now managed by Jean-Eugène Borie SA, this wine, which quickly gained a fine reputation, belongs to Madame Jean-Eugène Borie, her daughter Sabine Coiffe, and her son Bruno-Eugène (Chairman of the Board).

Château Lalande-Borie is located in the western part of the Saint-Julien appellation. The estate, located in the heart of several renowned grands crus classés terroirs, consists of a single plot covering 30 hectares, 22 of which are currently planted with vines. The soil consists of light gravel covering a subsoil of coarser gravel and clay. The 22 hectares of Château Lalande Borie's current vineyard are planted with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot Noir, and 10% Cabernet Franc. With a density of 8,500 vines per hectare, the vineyard is managed using traditional methods (Médoc pruning, double Guyot, etc.), while incorporating the latest advances in viticulture: manual leaf removal, green harvesting in summer, partial grass cover, yield control, and sustainable phytosanitary treatments.
