“A delightful Burgundy, Jean-Michel Chartron’s Clos de la Combe reveals lovely aromas of white flowers, citrus, and apple, leading to a ripe and vibrant attack on the palate, with good structure and precision in the mid-palate and finish.” (Decanter Magazine)

Rated estate (2018 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the estate:

A superb representation of the terroirs of Puligny and Chassagne. All the wines possess a genuine mineral intensity combined with delicacy. They often develop slowly.

Rated estate (2018 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

A sure bet for all lovers of elegant white wines, this estate is one of the oldest in Puligny-Montrachet. It boasts a fine portfolio of vineyards that are expertly managed. Since 2004, following in his father’s footsteps, Jean-Michel Chartron has been cultivating his vineyards using organic farming methods without seeking certification. The proportion of new oak has been reduced, and since 2009, the wines have gained considerably in depth and clarity, shedding the overly oaky character that previously prevented them from expressing themselves fully.
