Mâcon-Loché

Mâcon-Loché
In Saône-et-Loire, we find the Maconnaise appellation for dry Burgundy whites: Mâcon-Loché. This complements the regional appellation "Mâcon" and covers almost 26 hectares of vineyards within a defined area in the commune of Mâcon. It is bordered by the Mâcon-Vinzelles appellation to the south, the Petite Grosne valley to the north, and the Pouilly-Loché appellation to the west.
Its terroir offers a wealth of soils largely composed of Saône sand and ancient alluvial terraces at an altitude of 190 to 220 meters, with a warm southern climate.
The wines produced from this vineyard are generally expressive and generous Chardonnays with a supple and mouthwatering texture. The aromas that delight the nose are those of yellow-fleshed fruits such as peach and quince, complemented by more spicy notes of vanilla, licorice, and beeswax.
