“A red Mercurey with a magnificent terroir that’s delicious to drink right now—a real treat!”

"Ruby in color with garnet highlights, this wine opens with opulent aromas of black tea, mint, red raspberry, cola, and black olive. On the palate, its well-integrated flavors evoke red cherry, hibiscus, and black plum, supported by a layer of soft, nourishing acidity and ripe tannins. This wine has aged beautifully and is ready to drink now.” (Wine Enthusiast 2025)

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Posted on April 27, 2026

This Mercurey is very drinkable and reasonably priced; at first glance, it is characterized by the finesse and fluidity of its texture, as well as a delicate, airy profile, with tannins softened by extended aging. However, flavors of ripe, almost candied fruit quickly emerge, attempting in vain to mask excessive notes of earth and undergrowth. Add to that a medium body, moderate fruit intensity, and a lack of acidity, and the overall impression leads me to believe that the wine is on the decline, with its soft and flat character. It is therefore best to drink it without delay, for example with stuffed poultry.
