Champagne François Chaumont

A winemaker since 1994, François Chaumont is the first in his family’s line of winemakers. Driven by a passion for vineyards and Champagne, he took over the management of a 5-hectare family vineyard in Puisieulx, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Located in the northern part of the Champagne region, at the foot of the northern slopes of the Grande Montagne de Reims, Puisieulx is one of Champagne’s 17 Grands Crus.

The vineyards of the François Chaumont estate are distinguished by their grape variety composition—two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Chardonnay—which lends richness and character to the grapes. Committed to environmental sustainability, the estate has been certified at Level 3 under the Haute Valeur Environnementale (High Environmental Value) program since 2018.

All stages of winemaking take place in Œuilly, in a modern cellar equipped to control every step of the process, from pressing to disgorgement. François Chaumont ’s expertise brings out the full character of both grape varieties through various cuvées: Blanc de Noirs, Blanc de Blancs, and Rosé. These are champagnes with character that harmoniously blend roundness, freshness, and tension, offering an authentic expression of the Puisieulx Grand Cru terroir.
