Champagne François Chaumont - Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut Grand Cru
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"The intense and elegant expression of Pinot Noir!"
“There are few vineyards left in Puisieulx, on the outskirts of the City of Coronations, so the name of this Grand Cru from the Montagne de Reims is rarely mentioned. In the Guide, it appears only on François Chaumont’s labels. The extra-brut version of this blanc de noirs (100% Pinot Noir), aged for a long time in the cellar, won over our panel. It is a blend of the 2021 and 2020 vintages. The pale gold color is dotted with fine bubbles. The nose combines white flowers with subtle hints of cherry, the signature of Pinot Noir. On the palate, this champagne’s freshness and its long, briny finish are particularly appreciated.” (Le Guide Hachette 2027).

About the estate:
In 1994, François Chaumont took over a 5-hectare family vineyard in Puisieulx, a grand cru in the Montagne de Reims. Thanks to the expertise and facilities of his wife, Marie-Hélène Littière—a winemaker in Œuilly (Champagne Michel Littière)—he was able to leave the cooperative in 2008.
