Champagne Jacques Chaput - Tradition
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"Elegance, balance, and roundness"
"A brut that is very representative of Bar-sur-Aubois, where Pinot Noir accounts for four-fifths of the vineyard area. In fact, this grape variety, complemented by Chardonnay, is prominent in the blend (80%). It leaves its mark on the intense, deep golden color and the nose, which has a "Pinot" character. Plums, figs, apples, yellow fruits, refreshed with citrus notes and hints of iodine, make up a very appealing palette, which is confirmed on the palate. Harmonious and long, invigorated by a liveliness with citrus flavors, the palate also expresses Pinot Noir through its structure and vinosity." (Le Guide Hachette 2026).

About wine:
A brut that is very representative of Bar-sur-Aubois, where Pinot Noir accounts for four-fifths of the vineyard. In fact, this grape variety, complemented by Chardonnay, is prominent in the blend (80%). It leaves its mark on the intense, deep golden color and the nose, which is distinctly "Pinot-like." Plums, figs, apples, yellow fruits, refreshed with citrus notes and hints of iodine, make up a very appealing palette, which is confirmed on the palate. Harmonious and long, invigorated by a liveliness with citrus flavors, the palate also expresses Pinot Noir through its structure and vinosity.
About the estate:
Based in the Bar-sur-Aube region, the Chaput family has been growing grapes for over two centuries. Jacques Chaput rebuilt the vineyard and launched his brand in 1953. Since 2007, his son Jacky, joined by his grandson Jason, has been running the family estate (nearly 14 hectares). The salamander is the brand's emblem.
