Champagne Jacques Chaput - Tradition
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
“Elegance, balance, and roundness”
“A brut that is highly representative of Bar-sur-Aubois, where Pinot Noir accounts for four-fifths of the vineyard. Indeed, this grape variety, complemented by Chardonnay, takes center stage in the blend (80%). It leaves its mark on the intense, deep golden color and the nose, which is distinctly ‘Pinot-like.’ Plum, fig, apple, and yellow fruits, refreshed by citrus notes and hints of iodine, create a very appealing palette that is confirmed on the palate. Harmonious and long, invigorated by a liveliness with citrus flavors, the palate also expresses Pinot Noir through its structure and vinosity.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026).

About the wine:
A brut that is highly representative of Bar-sur-Aubois, where Pinot Noir accounts for four-fifths of the vineyard. Indeed, this grape variety, complemented by Chardonnay, takes center stage in the blend (80%). It leaves its mark on the wine’s intense, deep golden color and the nose, which is distinctly “Pinot-like.” Plum, fig, apple, and yellow fruits, refreshed by citrus notes and hints of the sea, create a very appealing palette that is confirmed on the palate. Harmonious and long, invigorated by a liveliness with citrus flavors, the palate also expresses Pinot Noir through its structure and vinous character.
About the estate:
Based in the Bar-sur-Aube region, the Chaputs have been growing grapes for over two centuries. Jacques Chaput rebuilt the vineyard and launched his brand in 1953. Since 2007, his son Jacky, joined by his grandson Jason, has been running the family estate (nearly 14 hectares). The Salamander is the brand’s emblem.
