"New"
“The Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru is defined by this Chardonnay, which strikes a balance between the freshness of the base wine and the reserve wines, which account for up to 40%. Its fresh nose of white fruit is complemented by hints of dried fruit and toast. The dosage coats the palate in the mid-palate.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2022 - RVF)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
Union Champagne is a cooperative group drawing on vineyards classified as Premier Cru or Grand Cru, with the vast majority located in villages along the Côte des Blancs—particularly Avize, where the winery is headquartered. It created this brand, which relies primarily on the many excellent sources of wine from the Côte des Blancs at its disposal. As a result, the wines possess finesse and have gained in balance. Today, it is an excellent place to find fine champagnes from the Côte des Blancs at reasonable prices.

About the estate:
De Saint-Gall is a cooperative winery that is part of the L'Union Champagne group. Founded in 1966, it has more than 200 members and a large vineyard covering 1,400 hectares, 90% of which are Premier Cru and Grand Cru—500 hectares are Grand Cru Chardonnay. This winery also provides viticultural support to winegrowers. Cédric Jacoutin, the cellar master who joined the winery in 2000, acquired a large wooden cask in 2012 for reserve wines. His winery, located in Avize, reflects his passion for great Chardonnays. The Blanc de Blancs are characterized by subtle toasty notes and a creamy mousse. The Orpale cuvée, the winery’s flagship, is a pure Chardonnay made from grapes grown in four Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs: Mesnil-sur-Oger, Cramant, Avize, and Oger. Malolactic fermentation is partial, and the wines are disgorged after more than ten years. The 2008 vintage was disgorged in 2020.
