"New"
“The Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru is defined by this Chardonnay, which strikes a balance between the freshness of the base wine and the reserve wines, which account for up to 40% of the blend. Its fresh nose of white fruit is complemented by hints of dried fruit and toast. The dosage coats the palate in the mid-palate.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2022 - RVF)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Union Champagne is a cooperative group drawing on vineyards classified as Premier Cru or Grand Cru, with the vast majority located in villages along the Côte des Blancs, particularly Avize, where the winery is headquartered. The group created this brand, which relies primarily on the many excellent sources of grapes from the Côte des Blancs at its disposal. As a result, the wines exhibit finesse and have gained in balance. Today, it is an excellent place to find fine champagnes from the Côte des Blancs at reasonable prices.

About the estate:
De Saint-Gall is a cooperative winery that is part of the L'Union Champagne group. Founded in 1966, it has over 200 members and a large vineyard covering 1,400 hectares, 90% of which are Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards—500 hectares of which are Grand Cru Chardonnay vineyards. The winery also provides viticultural support to its growers. Cédric Jacoutin, the cellar master who joined in 2000, acquired a large wooden cask cellar in 2012 for reserve wines. His winery, located in Avize, showcases his passion for great Chardonnays. The Blanc de Blancs are characterized by a delicate toasted reduction and creamy mousse. The Orpale cuvée, the winery’s flagship, is a pure Chardonnay made from four Grand Crus of the Côte des Blancs: Mesnil-sur-Oger, Cramant, Avize, and Oger. Malolactic fermentation is partial, and disgorgement takes place after more than ten years. The 2008 vintage was disgorged in 2020.
