"An irresistibly appealing creation, beautifully complex, in which the Solera blend of wines dating back to 1990 is well integrated."

DISCOVER THE SOLERA METHOD

“This brut earned the following praise from a taster: ‘Beautiful complexity and well-integrated reserve wines. ’ Made primarily from Chardonnay (75%, supplemented mainly by Pinot Noir), it includes wines from a solera system started in 1990—a perpetual reserve partially replenished each year with young wines that refresh the oldest vintages while preserving their mature characteristics. The result is an intense, fresh, and complex nose, blending white flowers and lemon with yellow fruits and toasted brioche, followed by a lively, full-bodied, and persistent palate where the complexity of the nose is reflected: a rare harmony.” (Le Guide Hachette).

About the wine:

This brut earned the following praise from a taster: “Beautiful complexity and well-integrated reserve wines. ” Made primarily from Chardonnay (75%, supplemented mainly by Pinot Noir), it includes wines from a solera system established in 1990—a perpetual reserve partially replenished each year with young wines that refresh the oldest vintages while preserving their mature characteristics. The result is an intense, fresh, and complex nose, blending white flowers and lemon with yellow fruits and toasted brioche, followed by a palate that is lively on the attack, full-bodied, and persistent, where the complexity of the nose is reflected: a rare harmony.

About the estate:

The Massin family has been running the estate for five generations. Dominique and Rachel launched their champagne in 1975. In 2009, Tristan Massin, a certified winemaker, joined his mother in running the estate, and was joined in 2013 by his sister Céline. Located in the Côte des Bar region, the HVE-certified estate has a 12-hectare vineyard planted primarily with Pinot Noir. The wines are aged for at least three years in the cellar.

A splendid Champagne, on par with the great houses—but much more expensive. What a great value at this price. Rated 4.6
