An aperitif wine, but above all, a wine that pairs well with every course of the meal...
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 14/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2015 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)
About the wine:
Red berries on the nose and on the palate, with a pleasant, smooth texture.
About the estate:
This small winery based in Bouzy produces only Grand Cru champagnes—with the exception of the rosé, which is still a Premier Cru! The grapes come primarily from Bouzy, of course, supplemented by Chardonnays from Avize and Cramant.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2015) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Rated estate (2016 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the wine:
The estate was founded in 1907 and has been run by Marie-Thérèse Bonnaire since 1992: 6 hectares between Bouzy, a Grand Cru for red wines, and Chouilly, a Grand Cru for white wines. The brand pays homage to the winemaker’s grandfather, and the wines are crafted by Jean-Louis Bonnaire, the winemaker’s husband, who is also a winegrower in Cramant. (RM)
Pinot Noir dominates (80%, complemented by Chardonnay) in this elegant blended rosé with aromas of candied fruit and orange zest; it is both rich and fresh on the palate.
