Laroche - Vina Punto Alto

Viña Punto Alto is owned by the Laroche family, who have been producing and making Chablis wines since 1850. Michel Laroche, representing the fifth generation, joined the family estate in 1967 to carry on the tradition and continue the work begun. In 2001, the entrepreneurial spirit of Michel Laroche and his colleagues took them beyond French borders to take up the challenge of New World . Fascinated by the potential of unique climatic conditions, the wide variety of grape varieties, and the ancestral culture of wine, he decided to create a vineyard in Chile: Viña Punto Alto. In 2005, he purchased 53 hectares of ideally located hillsides in the Casablanca Valley, west of Santiago, towards Valparaiso, at the foot of El Mahuco Mountain, which separates the Casablanca and Maipo valleys. In 2006, Michel Laroche acquired a 23-hectare estate planted with Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, equipped with a fully functional cellar, immediately adjacent to the highway connecting Santiago to Valparaiso.

In Chile, as elsewhere, the quality of viticulture is a central concern. There can be no great wines without good grapes! Viña Punto Alto's philosophy is as follows: controlled yields, harvesting at full maturity while preserving the freshness of the fruit, meticulous vinification, and the use of barrels reserved almost exclusively for the best red wines with a solid structure. Aging is adapted to each grape variety according to the desired style. In all cases , Viña Punto Alto 's goal is to express the unique characteristics of each grape variety. Chile produces aromatic, harmonious, and distinguished wines.
