Laroche - Vina Punto Alto

Viña Punto Alto is owned by the Laroche family, which has been producing and crafting Chablis wines since 1850. Michel Laroche, representing the fifth generation, joined the family estate in 1967 to carry on the tradition and continue the work begun by his predecessors. In 2001, the entrepreneurial spirit of Michel Laroche and his team took them beyond France’s borders to take on the challenge of New World win . Fascinated by the potential of unique climatic conditions, the wide variety of grape varieties, and the ancestral tradition of winemaking, he decided to establish a vineyard in Chile: Viña Punto Alto. In 2005, he purchased 53 hectares of hillsides ideally situated in the Casablanca Valley, west of Santiago, toward Valparaíso, at the foot of Mount El Mahuco, which separates the Casablanca and Maipo valleys. In 2006, Michel Laroche acquired a 23-hectare estate planted with Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, complete with a fully functional winery, located right off the highway connecting Santiago to Valparaiso.

In Chile, as elsewhere, the quality of viticulture is a top priority. No great wines without good grapes! Viña Punto Alto’s philosophy is as follows: controlled yields, harvesting at full ripeness while preserving the fruit’s freshness, meticulous winemaking, and the use of barrels reserved almost exclusively for the best red wines with a solid structure. Aging is tailored to each grape variety according to the desired style. In all cases , Viña Punto Alto’s goal is to express the unique characteristics of each grape variety. Chile produces aromatic, harmonious, and distinguished wines.
