Bodega Coto de Hayas
Bodega Coto de Hayas was created by a group of winemakers in 1984, now led by Javier Vela. This brilliant and discreet oenologist, madly in love with and passionate about Grenache, works relentlessly to preserve a fair and balanced culture with the utmost respect for the grapes, in order to bring them to the winery in optimum condition. He gives the same care to the simplest Bodega Coto de Hayas wines in all three colors, as he does to his great red Grenache wines.

In just ten years, he has taken Bodega Coto de Hayas to an international level, notably with his cuvée Fagus. Located in the northernmost part of the province of Zaragoza, around Fuendejalón and Magallón, the vineyards are at an altitude of between 400 and 500 meters. The soils at Bodega Coto de Hayas are predominantly clay and clay-iron.

The main grape variety is Grenache Rouge, but Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, Syrah, Chardonnay and Muscat are also grown. In the cellars, great care is taken to preserve all the delicate qualities of the fruit. The bodega also produces two excellent vins doux naturels, a Grenache red and a Muscat white. The great wines of Bodega Coto de Hayas are typical, fine, subtle and elegant, the fruit of an optimal match between terroir and extraordinary craftsmanship.
