"The Genium 2007 is made from 60% Grenache, 20% Carignan, with Merlot and Syrah rounding out the blend. The Grenache and Carignan come from vines over 90 years old. It was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. Asian spices, incense, plum, blackberry, and balsamic notes on the nose, in the classic Priorat style. Juicy, concentrated, and well-balanced, it will continue to develop for 1 to 2 years and will be ready to drink through 2019.” (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

A remarkable balance (you don't notice the 15.5% alcohol at all), but unfortunately marred by overly pronounced oak aging that overpowers everything else.

This wine underwent significant changes in aroma and flavor from the moment it was opened until an hour later, with tastings every 15 minutes. In any case, it didn't win me over...
