Bodegas Casajus
Bodegas Casajus was founded by José Alberto Calvo Casajus, a native of the small village of Quintana del Pidio, located in the hills north of the Duero Valley, home to the Ribera del Duero appellation.
The Bodegas Casajus vineyard, sheltered to the north by small mountains covered with pine and oak trees, comprises 20 hectares of Tinta del País (Tempranillo) vines that are over 50 years old. The region’s unique climate allows for the best balance between acidity and fruitiness in the wines produced. Furthermore, the cultivation techniques, winemaking, and aging processes are the result of a rigorous family heritage.
Passionate and descended from a family of winemakers, José Alberto Calvo Casajus decided to make his own wines by overseeing every stage of the production process. Today, Bodegas Casajus is a modern winery equipped with state-of-the-art technology, yet closely connected to the spirit of family tradition unique to the region.
