Step into Peter Sisseck's world with his PSI 2023, a new vintage that reveals the full character of Soria, according to Vinous!

"The PSI 2023 brings together fruits from 12 villages, mainly Gumiel de Mercado and Villatuelda, in the Soria area of the Ribera del Duero. [...] Garnet in color, it opens with notes of pine and herbs, followed by red fruits—cherry and a hint of plum. The palate reveals fine tannins, a medium-bodied texture and detailed fruit. The bottle will reveal the character of Soria in the interplay between fine tannins and acidity. 2025-2040" (Vinous 2025)

About wine:

Tasted just before bottling, and therefore a sample of the final blend, the PSI 2023 is juicy, ripe, and accessible. It is a little more showy and heady, despite having a similar alcohol content to the 2022 in bottle (perhaps a little higher, but not quite reaching 14%), and it seems a little riper, with notes of peach and some wilted flowers. It has abundant tannins and seems to need a little more time in bottle. This is generally the case with PSI: the tannins need time. They soften fairly quickly, but it still takes a little time. It should be bottled in May 2025. 2026-2034

About wine:

PSI 2023 brings together fruit from 12 villages, mainly Gumiel de Mercado and Villatuelda, in the Soria area of the Ribera del Duero. The project began in 2007 with the restoration of neglected vineyards, which now total 200 hectares spread over approximately 700 plots, 25% of which belong to the estate. Garnet in color, it opens with notes of pine and herbs, followed by red fruits—cherry and a hint of plum. The palate reveals fine tannins, a medium-bodied texture, and detailed fruit. The bottle will reveal Soria's character in the interplay between fine tannins and acidity. 2025-2040
