Bodega Valtravieso
The history of Bodega Valtravieso began in 1985, when the first vines were planted on an experimental basis near Piñel de Arriba in the heart of Spain's Ribera del Duero region. The first vines were planted at that time on the La Revilla estate. A decade later, in 1996, the first vintage was produced: Valtravieso Crianza, which surprised everyone with its personality and quality. Valtravieso's small production continued to bear fruit year after year, but it was not until 2002 that production really took off. That year, Bodega Valtravieso was taken over by Beteré Gonzalez, who implemented an innovative project: this was the beginning of the "New Valtravieso."
The new Bodega Valtravieso project is based on a philosophy: to take advantage of the resources offered by nature to make great Ribera del Duero wines. To achieve this goal, Bodega Valtravieso combines traditional production methods with modern technology. A new winery was built and opened in 2007, with greater capacity and better resources for development and high-quality work. Today, Bodega Valtravieso has modern facilities covering more than 4,500 m² and a 73-hectare vineyard divided into four terroirs: "La Revilla," "Santa Maria," "El Buey," and "El Obispo."
