Bodega Valtravieso

Bodega Valtravieso traces its origins to 1985, when the first vines were planted on an experimental basis near Piñel de Arriba in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. The first vines were planted at that time on the “La Revilla” estate. A decade later, in 1996, the first vintage was produced: Valtravieso Crianza, which impressed with its character and quality. Valtravieso’s small-scale production continued to bear fruit year after year, but it wasn’t until 2002 that production really took off. That year, Bodega Valtravieso was taken over by Beteré Gonzalez, who launched an innovative project: this marked the beginning of “New Valtravieso.”

Bodega Valtravieso ’s new project is based on a philosophy: to make the most of nature’s resources to produce great Ribera del Duero wines. To achieve this goal, Bodega Valtravieso combines traditional production methods with modern technology. A new winery was built and opened in 2007, offering greater capacity and better resources for the winery’s growth and high-quality production. Today, Bodega Valtravieso has modern facilities covering more than 4,500 m² and a 73-hectare vineyard divided into four terroirs: “La Revilla,” “Santa Maria,” “El Buey,” and “El Obispo.”
