Bodega Valtravieso

Bodega Valtravieso traces its origins back to 1985, when the first vines were planted on an experimental basis near Piñel de Arriba in the heart of Spain’s Ribera del Duero region. At that time, the first vines were planted on the “La Revilla” estate. A decade later, in 1996, the first vintage was produced: Valtravieso Crianza, which surprised everyone with its character and quality. Valtravieso’s small-scale production continued to bear fruit year after year, but it wasn’t until 2002 that production really took off. That year, Bodega Valtravieso was taken over by Beteré Gonzalez, who launched an innovative project: this marked the beginning of “New Valtravieso.”

Bodega Valtravieso’s new project is based on a philosophy: to make the most of the resources offered by nature to produce great Ribera del Duero wines. To achieve this goal, Bodega Valtravieso combines traditional production methods with modern technology. Construction of a new winery, opened in 2007, provided greater capacity and better resources for its development and high-quality work. Today, Bodega Valtravieso boasts modern facilities spanning over 4,500 m² and a 73-hectare vineyard divided into four terroirs: "La Revilla," "Santa Maria," "El Buey," and "El Obispo."
