Clos de Gat
Le Clos de Gat is located in the foothills of the Judean Mountains, on the edge of the biblical Ayalon Valley. It takes its name from the ancient "Gat" ("press" in Hebrew) dating back to the Roman Empire, located in the heart of the estate's vineyard.
Clos de Gat covers 19 hectares and benefits from a terroir that has been home to vines for several centuries. The hills and valleys of the region reveal a combination of fine surface soils resting on limestone subsoils. The Clos de Gat vineyard is planted with international grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah, and Chardonnay (as well as a small experimental proportion of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier).
Clos de Gat wines are made with indigenous yeasts, which add complexity and better reflect the expression of the terroir.
