Assisi Rosso

Assisi Rosso is a Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) from the Umbria region in central Italy. The production area is limited to the two municipalities of Assisi and Spello, in the province of Perugia.

The Assisi Rosso vineyards stretch across the green hills and between the forests and mountains that characterize the Umbrian landscape. The combination of this terroir with the Mediterranean-type climate is particularly conducive to local grape varieties, although producers also use foreign varieties. Assisi Rosso is mainly made from Sangiovese and Merlot.

As its name suggests,Assisi Rosso is a red wine with a beautiful deep ruby color. It is best drunk young, even as a primeur. It offers a beautiful balance between tannins and freshness.
