"A great Barolo praised by critics!"

The Barolo Rocche Dell'Annunziata 2019 is spectacular. Aged for two years in 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels, it is bursting with aromas of licorice, raspberry liqueur, pressed roses, and crushed stones. Full-bodied, with a weightless feel, fine-grained tannins, and fresh acidity, it has a continuous arc on the mid-palate, without any harshness, and is bursting with ripe red cherries, cedar, black tea, and dried flowers." Wine rated (2023 guide) 96/100 (Extraordinary wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About wine:

This astonishing wine opens with a blend of tart red and blue berries, rose, and sweet, savory spices that evolve into more savory, earthy notes. The palate is refined, framing the cherry flavor with tobacco and wild herb flavors that are almost in unison. The finish is sublime, with vibrant acidity and fine tannins that will give this wine life for years to come.

About wine:

Lots of dried flowers give it a fragrant character, with berries and citrus fruits. Hibiscus water too. Full-bodied and chewy, with lots of tannins and lively acidity. Subtle character of plum and strawberry. Muscular and well-formed. It needs time. Try after 2028.
