Mas Granier - Camp de l'Oste 2013
2*Étoiles
Hachette
15/20
Bettane & Desseauve
The depth of color reflects the beautiful maturity of this blend of Syrah (majority), Grenache, and Mourvèdre. Discreet at first, the nose opens up with swirling notes of stewed fruit, spices, garrigue, and licorice. A full-bodied and frank attack introduces a powerful and generous palate of fruit in alcohol and roasted notes, with very beautiful, already silky tannins and a subtle freshness in the background." Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2016 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About wine:
Fresh on the palate, with smoky bacon notes in a mature blend. A very tasty and successful wine.
About the estate:
Jean-Philippe Granier provides technical advice to all winegrowers in the Languedoc appellations. The family estate, located in the Sommières area, offers perfectly clean, impeccably vinified wines, from IGP to Languedoc: it is the quality of the entry-level wines that distinguishes a good estate. Among the reds, Clémence is intense in flavor, Jéricho is bold with perfectly controlled tannins, and Camp-de-l'Oste is a model for the area. There is a clear focus here on the taste and flavors that all wines from the region should express. This is a very reliable estate, especially since, in addition to the reds, the whites are just as consistent and the Parenthèse rosé is regularly exceptional.

Concentration and a little bit of woodiness. Too many brands: difficult to digest at this stage.
