Château d'Anglès

From the Médoc to the Languedoc… Éric Fabre, former technical director of Château Lafite-Rothschild, and his wife Christine Fabre—both from families of winemakers—embarked on a meticulous search for a great terroir in the Languedoc. In 2001, in Saint-Pierre-la-Mer, in the La Clape region, they acquired and restructured the 45-hectare vineyard of Château d’Anglès. This effort focused in particular on rebalancing the traditional grape varieties: Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan for red wines; and Bourboulenc, Grenache, Roussanne, and Marsanne for white wines. Today, Vianney Fabre, their son, carries on the Fabre family’s winemaking legacy, having joined Château d’Anglès in 2010 to oversee international sales.
