"Let yourself be seduced by this beautifully balanced, supple Saint-Chinian."

Praised last year for its Best of Belot, the estate is back with this Mouleyres, a single vineyard selection aged for a year in new barrels. With a bright purple color and delicate, lively aromas of sweet spices and morello cherry, the start is promising. On the palate, it's a recital: a full attack, a sensual and caressing mid-palate, silky tannins well coated by the aging, and an irresistibly seductive vanilla finish. All this in a setting of preserved freshness. Simply perfect and already irresistible." (Le Guide Hachette 2025).

Wine rating (2024 guide) 90/100 (July/August 2024 issue)

About wine:

A beautifully fruity juice, with notes of terroir and earth, aromas of heather and rockrose, and hints of laurel beneath dominant fruit. Combined with a velvety tannic structure, the palate evokes a sunny wine invigorated by the schist terroir.

About wine:

A juicy, fruity, and lively red wine, blended from Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre grapes. The nose offers notes of black cherries, bay leaves, and baking spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. The berries are crisp, the mid-palate is lively, and the finish is succulent. Ready to drink now.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 12/04/2024

The slender, deep palate releases a lot of liveliness around a fleshy envelope of candied black fruits (prunes, cherries, and plums) mixed with spicy notes (clove, black pepper), with a touch of bacon and smoke. Supple texture, powerful tannins, present but silky, with a hint of bitterness on the finish. This characterful, slightly rustic wine can be enjoyed now after decanting with spicy dishes such as Caribbean black pudding and homemade mashed potatoes with caramelized onions. Rating = 3.7.

Review and opinion by Mr. MATHIEU W. Published on 12/01/2024

Deep cherry red color with purple at the core. On the nose, the dark, earthy, and slightly reductive character of Saint Chinian. Very recognizable (terroir, in other words). Dark fruit, coffee, tar, medicinal herbs. On the palate, ripe and juicy dark fruit, blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, plum compote, lots of substance and a firm tannin structure of fine-grained tannins. Power, substance, freshness, and length. An excellent Saint Chinian at a very attractive price. Score: 16/20
